Winner: 2014 Educated Guess

I have been a fan of Educated Guess since 2005 (first release). Mark Albrecht (owner) does a really good job sourcing his juice and Berry Gnekow (winemaker) does a fantastic job making really good affordable Cabs. Best year was 2005.

For $16-$20 a bottle, the 2014 Educated Guess Cabernet is a winner. Nice dark fruit at the beginning (not too big) and smooth all the way through to the end. It is a bit tart at the very end, but it's not overwhelming and the tartness does not linger in your mouth. Great everyday wine.

Plus, you can bring this to any dinner party and not feel bad that it only cost you $20. It easily drinks like a $30 to $40 bottle of wine.
